Elizabeth Rocha’s service in the Marine Corps taught her the importance of community.
When she visited Cal State Fullerton’s Veterans Resource Center for the first time, she found a support system that celebrated her veteran experience and decision to go back to school.
Working with campus organizations like Student Veterans of America, Elizabeth developed her leadership skills and discovered her passion for advocacy. She helped plan the Women's Veterans in Higher Education Conference, which provides student veterans with opportunities to share their stories and network with professionals.
Today, Elizabeth is a mental health case worker for Irvine Valley College’s Veterans Services Center. She supports student veterans by connecting them with resources, physicians, nurses, therapists and other services.
